The Observer
Beskrivning
In The Observer, Emanuel Cederqvist visits the weather station at Pårtetjåkko, located on a mountain peak in the southern part of Sarek. The weather station was built by Axel Hamberg and completed in 1914. During the years 1914-1918, the station was inhabited by two weather observers who performed meticulous measurements of the weather around the clock. Due to the site's inaccessible geographical location, the station and the remaining measuring instruments have remained untouched for over a hundred years. The Observer relates to a particular story in which Cederqvist's namesake, weather observer Emanuel "Manne" Hofing, disappeared in a snowstorm and was never found. A storm that could not be foreseen. The work explores the measurable and the immeasurable, the predictable and the unpredictable.
