POOL TO POOL

Beskrivning

The title POOL TO POOL is a play with words that signify both a swimming pool and the belonging to a community. In this photographic work that also consists of sculptures, the spectator floats through time and space in an empty urban scenery, from one pool to another.

With the work, Alexandra Lige wants to investigate the concept of place and notion by playing with different contexts. Depending on our experience in relation to motifs, words and materials we attribute different meaning and assumptions to what we observe.

To contextualize the idea of what POOL TO POOL can mean, there is a dictionary added to the work. The dictionary illustrates the variety of meaning in language and shows the ambiguity of words.
