Mercè Torres Ràfols is a Catalan visual artist, currently based in Göteborg, she mostly works with photography and how this lens based practice meets other materials, such as text or archival material.
Torres Ràfols is interested in questions of inheritance of a place, a tradition; how
knowledge has trespassed and how we can understand something anew. These questions are situated in a territory, becoming a site specific visual investigation of how that place has changed over time, and how time is experienced through a community.
