Abdar-Rahman Manouchi

Biografi

Abdar-Rahman Manouchi (b. 1993, Malmö, Sweden) is an artist and photographer based between Stockholm and Berlin. He’s undertaking a BFA in Photography at Academy Valand in Gothenburg, Sweden. He utilizes a human experience of societal friction, a neurodivergent mind and a cultural identity that resists categorization. The perspective is both free and excluded and acts as a sort of celestial device articulating a desire for change in humanity’s paradigm.
The images are presented in large-scale. Subjects are chosen with variation, comprised of portraiture, florals, modified and soaked in saturated colours, and conceptual still-life’s reminiscent of abstract oil-painting.
The notable focus on tactility creates a tangible experience for the spectator, and draw abstract concepts into the physical reality of an exhibition space; in an attempt, through fictional-expression, to construct new narrative for a disharmonious world.
