Centrum för fotografis director Kristyna Müller was invited to participate and present work at the Lithuanian Photography symposium “Nida: Meeting photography” an international symposium taking place in Nida since 1973. Thanks to a grant from The Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation Fund we could also invite one of our members that was selected through an Open call, Mercè Torres Ràfols. She presented her practice and newly developed ideas on images that are foraged. Kristyna Müller presented Centrum för fotografi and a few of the exhibitions she has curated over the years as well as giving a broader insight into the Swedish photography scene.

”This was a valuable opportunity for me to gain deeper insight into the Lithuanian photography scene — its artists, organizers, and thematic focus areas. I also appreciated the chance to present work I’ve been developing over the past few years at Centrum för fotografi, which sparked meaningful conversations around curatorial practices and topics of shared interest among photographers. I’m truly looking forward to staying connected with the community and building on the relationships formed during this experience. It was also a great occasion for CFF to bring one of our members into an international context and help foster new professional connections.” -Kristyna Müller, director, Centrum för fotografi

”Attending the international symposium NIDA. Meeting Photography made it a week full of sharing and reflecting. Lectures from contemporary curators across Europe, artist talks, film screenings, and exhibitions created a unique environment: it was inspiring to meet so many creative minds and enjoy the natural landscapes with long walks along the beach and through the forest. And visiting the Nida Art Colony residency provided such a valuable insight into the Lithuanian photography scene! I was also grateful for the opportunity to give a talk on graves and images that are foraged and engage in discussions with fellow participants.” Mercè Torres Ràfols

Thank you to the The Sweden-Lithuania Cooperation Fund and to Lithuanian Photographers Association.
