Book launch: Belle Isle
Welcome to the book launch of Annika Thörn Legzdins’ book Belle Isle.
Time
18:00:00 - 19:30:00
On an island in Detroit stands a glass building where the climate is maintained through daily care. Nothing dramatic happens there. Doors are opened, vents are turned, hands return the next morning.
The plants are not separated from society. They make visible what society requires: attention, coordination, and responsibility carried over time. What appears to be an oasis is therefore not a retreat, but a proposal—that another way of inhabiting the world begins with learning how we care for it together.
