Photography as container, method as revelation. Heat Exchange is a conversation about photography and what it encompasses. United by a shared curiosity about the role of the image in contemporary times—time, politics, work, and play—the works extend beyond the visible, toward what a photograph carries.

The exhibition is a contemporary trace, a montage of 16 artistic voices that encounter photography in different forms, methods, and perspectives. Many of the artists do not work with photography as their primary medium; here, it becomes a point of departure. What happens when we challenge the material and disciplines—sculpture, painting, installation, performance, and sound—in an exchange with something else? There is a vibrating surface, an expressive environment within the works.

Heat suggests warmth, but also tension, between opposing poles—what sparks emerge from our encounter and being in the world? Can Heat Exchange, as an exhibition, bring forth proximity or distance regarding what a photograph can speak about or contain? A place in a contemporary city, with its exteriors and distances, a place to experience closeness and contact.
