Open Call: Hammarkullen Art Gallery
Centrum för fotografi, together with Hammarkullen Art Gallery, invites photographers to an open call for a duo exhibition. Two photographers will have the opportunity to show their work between September 18 – October 30, 2025. The exhibition will be part of GIBCA extended.
Hammarkullen Art Gallery is located in Gothenburg’s only underground tram stop and is run by Kulturhuset Blå Stället in Angered in consultation with the Hammarkullen Art Gallery Association. The association’s board consists of people who work in art/culture and live or have a background in Hammarkullen/Angered. Read more about the Art Gallery here.
The artists selected will receive a fee of SEK 7,700 excluding VAT for a 6-week exhibition. Hammarkullen Art Gallery provides prints on materials suitable for both the lightboxes and the other display cases. If you want to use materials other than those offered, you will bear the costs yourself.
Travel compensation, transport and accommodation up to: SEK 5,000 per exhibitor.
During the process, we invite you to a dialogue regarding the choice of materials and assembly solutions based on the conditions of the site. The jury will decide which of the display cases and surfaces you are assigned, but please describe any wishes regarding this in your application, and if your project can be installed in different ways, please also include this.
Exhibition space
- 1 large white exhibition display case/cube with adjustable lighting on a rail. Width 8.77 meters with 3 windows: 2×2 meters and 1.5 x 2 m. It is possible to drill into the wall.
- 3 cabinets/boxes with plexiglass approx. 130 cm wide, 170 cm high and 50 cm deep. There are spotlights from above with dimmer. They are always painted black. There is a metal rail from which you can hang things at the top of the boxes. There are electrical outlets.
- 1 screen of 50 inches on the upper level next to the ticket window. It is possible to use USB files with 1080p/Mp4 or MOV/ h264 codec.
- 16 light boards in the escalator.

Application
To apply, you need to submit:
- Portfolio with suggestions on what you would like to exhibit in the display cases. Please attach sketches, photos, video links or drawings of what you want to exhibit. (max 10 pages)
- Write about why the project is relevant to show in Hammarkullen Art Gallery, (max half an A4 page)
- CV (max 2 pages)
- Link to any website, with previous works/exhibitions.

Selection
Selection is made by a jury group with representatives from Kulturhuset Blå Stället, Hammarkullen konsthall Förening and Centrum för fotografi.
