The evolving photobook
Welcome to a conversation about the photobook with Sepidar Hosseini, Janne Riikonen, and Annika Thörn Legzdins.
The photobook as a format is constantly evolving. A photobook can be immersive, absorbing, and complex. Each title is a place for associations and stories. What sets the limits for what a photobook can be? And in what ways can one use the book’s materiality to convey an idea?
Together with the Photo Authors within the Swedish Photographers’ Association, the Center for Photography invites you to a conversation about the photobook’s form and materiality. Sepidar Hosseini is a graphic designer, visual artist, and jury member for this year’s Swedish Photobook Award. Janne Riikonen is a photographer, artist, and designer and runs the publishing house Kult Books. The conversation is moderated by Annika Thörn Legzdins, chairman of the Photo Authors.
The conversation takes place during the last day of the Swedish Photobook Award’s exhibition at the Center for Photography. Take the opportunity to browse the submitted books for this year’s Swedish Photobook Award and the Little Photobook Award.
