Open Call: Photobooks in Dialogue!

We welcome applications from photo-based publications where dialogue, collaboration, or exchange are central themes. This can take many forms: an exchange of ideas between two photographers, an artist and an archive, image and text, or the close interplay between artist, designer, and publisher. We are interested in books and zines where the exchange between multiple voices or actors is fundamental and has shaped the work from the ground up. Think of it as a ping-pong match, where ideas bounce from one side to the other in a fine balance without ever falling off the table.

The exhibition will be shown September 25–27 as part of Fotobok Fest, organized by Centrum för fotografi and Fotobok Gbg, at the Centrum för fotografi gallery at Bangatan 10 in Gothenburg. We welcome entries from publications worldwide, but please note that you are responsible for shipping costs to Sweden.

Fotobok Fest is a collaboration between Centrum för fotografi and Fotobok Gbg, with support from the City of Gothenburg and the Swedish Photographers’ Association.

Application deadline: August 16

Ansökan ska innehålla:

– CV, max 2 pages

– Short presentation of the publication (max 300 words, in Swedish or English)

– Images from the publication, 10–15 pages

All material must be compiled into a single PDF file of no more than 10 MB.

Selected participants will be notified at the end of August – keep an eye out for the response, as we must receive the publications by September 22 at the latest.

After the exhibition, you can choose to donate your publication to become part of the Hasselblad Foundation Library in Gothenburg, or have it returned at our expense.
