After Work, Talk
After Work Archives Day
Commence the celebrations for Archives Day with us! An evening concerning memory, power, and digital women’s history, featuring talks, artistic interventions, a quiz, and networking.
Time
17:00:00 - 19:00:00
What happens to our history when an increasing part of our lives takes place online? And how do we preserve digital narratives for the future? Based on this year’s theme for Archives Day, Humanity and Technology, we explore how history is created, preserved, and occasionally lost in a digital world.
Programme
Shelf Meters for Women 2026
How do we preserve digital women’s history? We present this year’s documentation in Shelf Meters for Women and are joined by artist Lotta Sjöberg, a co-founder of the Facebook group Family Living – The True Story. The group became a platform for sharing everyday reality, beyond the ideals of the perfect home and family life. The group’s history will now be archived at the Stockholm County Museum.
Artistic intervention: Hinni Huttunen
Hinni Huttunen’s artistic practice explores everyday absurdities, body ideals, and the conditions of the artist. With humor and precision, she examines the self-evident, from appearance and lifestyle to the costs of being an artist. Her works bear titles such as Alive (but at what cost) and Great Places for Crying and Smoking (top 3 in Stockholm); in Huttunen’s work, the unvarnished is given as much space as that which is typically deemed worthy of preservation.
Quiz and mingle
The event concludes (as always) with a quiz, refreshments, and networking for those interested in history, archival trivia, and conversation.
Free admission – however, pre-registration is required. The programme begins at 17:30. Register here
