The nominees for the Swedish Photobook Award 2026 are Trinidad Carillo, Christoffer Hjalmarsson, Emanuel Cederqvist, Hannah Modigh, and Charlie Hay. The winner will be announced on March 25. This year, the jury received 138 entries.

For the third consecutive year, an award is also being presented for Artist Books. This is an award for photographers working with small editions, experimental productions, and self-published photographic printed matter. The award was established in 2024 to recognize and reward the rich diversity of photographic literature that is often published in limited editions.

The exhibition also features films about all the nominated photo authors and their books. This provides an in-depth encounter with the author and an opportunity to further disseminate and strengthen the position of photographic literature.

The Swedish Photobook Award was established in 1996 by the Photo Authors section of the Swedish Association of Professional Photographers and celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Photo Authors was formed in 1972 to provide photographers producing photobooks with greater opportunities to work strategically and collectively to strengthen the position of photographic literature. The organization benefits photographers both within and outside the association who are dedicated to book publishing and creating literary content.

This year’s jury consisted of Maria Patomella, Ida Wessel, Sanna Samuelsson, Ela Polkowska, and Magnus Westerborn.

The exhibition is a collaboration with the Photo Authors section of the Swedish Association of Professional Photographers.
