Open Call: Publications from the Västra Götaland Region, Photobook Gbg 2022
Do you work with photobooks? We are looking for those of you who have published, self-published, or work experimentally in the expanded field of photobooks, fanzines, or similar.
In connection with Photobook Gbg 2022, we are seeking publications from the Västra Götaland region that have been published in the last five years. Images from the publications will be used in an outdoor exhibition in central Gothenburg during November, and the publications will be displayed at the Gothenburg Literature House during the festival.
A jury consisting of representatives from Centrum för fotografi and Photobook Gbg will select the participating projects. The jury strives to select projects that demonstrate the diversity of voices and different backgrounds present in the region. A compensation of SEK 3,000 will be paid per participant.
To apply, you must live or work in the Västra Götaland region. If your project is selected, you must be able to deliver your publication to us, along with high-resolution images from the project, either in person or by post.
Photobook Gbg 2022 is a festival dedicated entirely to photobooks and is run in collaboration with Centrum för fotografi. The festival takes place November 17-20 in Gothenburg, in the middle of the Swedish west coast. Through artist talks, lectures, exhibitions, and workshops, the festival aims to provide a platform for different voices, support and showcase the regional scene, and simultaneously present international books to the Swedish audience. The festival has previously been arranged in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
