Photography – arenas for photography outside the professional sphere
In connection with the exhibition ‘Free Photographers’ Branch’ at Kulturhuset, a discussion will be held about the power and desire in the photographic popular movement between curator Maria Patomella, exhibition manager at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, and Göran Segeholm, photographer, author and photography teacher.
For the sixth time, the Free Photographers’ Branch fills an entire gallery at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern with images by over sixty photographers from all over Sweden. The photographers are of all ages and have different backgrounds but share a passion for photography. Photography today spans a wide spectrum of techniques, from mobile phones to analogue pinhole cameras, and on social media the audience is there, whether in large or small followings. What makes photography such a good outlet for the creative need? Can the hobby become something more, and what does it take?
Stadsteatern Admission is included in the entrance ticket to the exhibition ‘Free Photographers’ Branch’.
