Course: Making a living from your art
In a unique collaboration between eight Centrum organisations in Västra Götaland and Nätverkstan in Gothenburg, we are creating a process this year where you, together with others, can take the next step in your business.
Do you need time to reflect on what you are doing and where you are going?
Are you looking for support in creating a strategy for the next step in your business?
Do you want to boost your income to provide better conditions for your creativity?
Are you curious about how others balance economic and artistic values?
This is an opportunity to get support in the things around the creation to find new opportunities, overcome obstacles that feel difficult, and create more economic stability.
A dynamic group of 25 professional musicians, writers, filmmakers, illustrators, artisans, photographers, artists and dancers will have the chance, in a structured process, to map their current situation, find their goals and form a strategy and plan to get there.
Conversations and exercises will alternate with lectures and examples. There will be time to share experiences in the group, and in the meeting between different art forms, new ideas about what is possible and what the way forward looks like can be given space. We are looking for participants who can participate on all occasions and who feel motivated to be influenced, try new things and reflect together with others.
Process leaders are Anna Johansen and Karin Dalborg from Nätverkstan, who have many years of experience in designing and implementing courses and processes for learning and development aimed at artists, musicians, writers and others who want to make a living from their creations.
The format will partly build on Nätverkstan’s well-proven course The Art of Living on Art in combination with methods and knowledge from the Centrum organisations’ long experience of skills provision to their members. Exciting guest lecturers will be invited to share their experiences and provide input on specific themes.
You need to be based or working in Västra Götaland to participate.

June 18, 9:00–11:00 on Zoom
September 5, 10:00–16:00 on site at Lagerhuset in Gothenburg
September 20, 14:00–16:00 on Zoom
October 8, 9:00–12:00 + lunch 12:00–13:00 on site at Lagerhuset in Gothenburg
Two supervision sessions in a smaller group via Zoom (dates to be booked at the start of the course).
A meeting with the other participants from your Centrum organisation (date to be booked at the start of the course).
