Centrum för fotografi’s members are invited to an exclusive viewing of “Sleepless Nights – From the 1980s in the Moderna Museet Collection” with extra focus on photography in the exhibition. Anna Tellgren, Moderna Museet’s curator in charge of photography and the curator for the exhibition, will guide us through the photographic scene of the 1980s.

About the exhibition:

Economic boom and bust, as well as the fear of HIV and AIDS, characterize the 1980s. At the same time, the art market is red-hot, the alternative art scene is very active, and the Cold War is coming to an end. This contradictory period of transition, between the political 1970s and the formally stricter 1990s, is evident in Moderna Museet’s collection. Here are works from some of the really big international stars, but above all from a long line of domestic artists, both known and unknown.
