Film Screening with Maud Nycander
Welcome to a film screening where we will show two films by Maud Nycander, who is currently exhibiting the Latvian photographer Inta Ruka in Borås. During the evening, we will show two films about Inta Ruka – The Photographer from Riga and The End of the Road, and invite you to a subsequent conversation with the filmmaker.
Maud Nycander is one of Sweden’s most well-known documentary filmmakers. In 2008, she won a Guldbagge for the documentary film “The Nun” and in 2012 she was nominated for a Guldbagge in three categories for “Palme” for Best Documentary Film (Maud Nycander and Kristina Lindström), Best Editing (Andreas Jonsson, Hanna Lejonqvist, Niels Pagh Andersen) and Best Music (Benny Andersson) and won in the latter two.
On two occasions, Maud Nycander has portrayed and worked with the Latvian photographer Inta Ruka – in the film “The Photographer from Riga” (2009) and in the film “The End of the Road” (2013).
Maud is now relevant again in connection with an exhibition of Inta Ruka in Borås.
The film screening and conversation will take place at the Center for Photography, Bjurholmsplan 26 in Stockholm.
Free admission, no prior registration required.
