Opening: Photography NOW with Clio Pavlidis Andersson and Anna Schlechter
Welcome to the opening of Photography NOW with Clio Pavlidis Andersson and Anna Schlechter. Because the present is constantly changing, there is always reason to return to what photography is today. Photography Now is a format that the Center for Photography (CFF) launched several years ago, and in the autumn of 2025 it will reappear. Through an Open Call, two member photographers have been selected to show their perspectives on contemporary photography. The exhibition captures current trends and highlights some of the currents that characterize photography today.
In her work, Clio Pavlidis Andersson grasps at what a home, an identity, and a belonging can mean. In her poetic and subtle photographs, in both color and black and white, she captures the feeling of longing, community, and time. The story is personal and originates in her Greek roots, but is also universal and speaks to the need to belong to a place as well as a family.
In Anna Schlechter’s visual world, the term ‘absurd’ is central. Through this concept, she reflects on the norms of our time and different types of boundaries for human, and female, behavior. Her images, which are almost exclusively self-portraits in a home environment, are multi-layered and filled with humor, classic symbols, and often refer to various works of art.
