On March 13th at 12:00, Galleri Southnord invites CFF members to a viewing of their current exhibition “Mindscape.”
More about the exhibition:
Mindscape is Southnord’s first group exhibition. The exhibition offers a selection of works from Southnord’s ever-growing art collection. The exhibition opened on February 5, 2025, and showcases works by 11 artists, each of whom has worked with introspective human figures in various techniques and materials.
Southnord continuously invests in building an art collection that reflects the contemporary issues occupying artists of the African diaspora in the Nordic region. The works in “Mindscape” depict people in various forms and techniques, most in repose or deep contemplation. Participating artists include Alexander Das Neves Lehmann, Damien Ajavon, Diana Agunbiade-Kolawole, Eric Magassa, Frida Orupabo, Lidiya Solomon, Muriel Makhathini, Rafiki, Senay Berhe, Uwa Iduozee, and Yemisi Wilson.
“The selection of works in Mindscape includes both portraits and depictions of the interior, where one can only imagine the inner lives of the subjects. It is an enticing exercise to explore our inner landscapes together with various types of art practitioners.” Marcia Harvey Isaksson, the exhibition’s curator.
During the exhibition period, Southnord will invite artists, poets, writers, thinkers, performers, and other creatives from across the Nordic region to engage in dialogue with the artworks and activate the space. Each activation will offer a new perspective on the underlying themes, enriching and expanding a collective reflection on our inner lives.
