Julia Lindemalm is a trained photojournalist and works as a freelance photographer and artist in Malmö. In her artistic work, animals play the main role. Through them, she seeks answers to existential questions. She has published two photo books, “Katt People” (2017) and “Zoo World” (2018). During the evening, she will talk about the work of creating the books, one published by a publisher and the other on her own, and what she has learned from the different processes.

In 2023, she received the Documentary Photography Award as one of three prize winners, which is awarded by the Museum of Work in Norrköping.

In connection with the lecture, the nominated books for the Swedish Photobook Award 2023 will also be presented briefly.
