Our operations are expanding throughout the country
Centrum för fotografi is a driving force in creating new networks and bringing together individuals, institutions, and other stakeholders, laying the groundwork for strengthening photography in Sweden. We are currently actively working on our national initiative in Skåne, Västra Götaland, and Västerbotten.
During the spring of 2022, Centrum för fotografi is working with two working groups, one in Västra Götaland and one in Region Skåne. Reference groups have also been established in these two regions to support the work.
The working group in Västra Götaland in 2022 consists of Lars Dyrendom and Emma Sandström, who during the spring of 2022 are working on a version of the project Mötesplats Fotografi (Meeting Place Photography). Mötesplats Fotografi is based on a preliminary study conducted in 2020, which revealed a great need among photographers in the region to meet. A series of lectures, workshops, and activities were created as a result.
The working group in Region Skåne consists of Linda Unnhem and Peo Olsson. They are working on a preliminary study that maps the region’s needs. The preliminary study is based on a survey distributed to existing and potential members in Skåne; photographers, publishers, writers, and more. The survey will be compiled during May 2022. Based on the preliminary study, we will implement a number of program items in Skåne.
During the autumn of 2022, new editions of the fanzine project Periferi will also be carried out in Skåne in parallel with workshops and lectures linked to the project.
Another focus area that has been started is Västerbotten , where Sune Jonsson Center for Documentary Photography/Västerbottens Museum is a recurring partner.
The overarching goals during the year are to create a foundation for long-term operations in Västa Götaland and Skåne. Centrum för fotografi shall enrich, develop, and create conditions for professionals in the photographic field throughout the country and advance the conversation about photography.
