And then you weren’t there is a documentary work about the grieving process after the passing of a father. A process that takes a physical and practical expression in creating a burial device. The work is based on the father’s love and longing for the sea, the dreams back to the sailing adventures in his youth.

Jonas Knape is a photographer, based in Stockholm, who works broadly within the photographic field, with a clear focus on portraits. Jonas has studied painting and urban planning, but has always had photography as his primary means of expression. With curiosity and a strong interest in other people, Jonas strives to create intimate and stripped-down images that touch. Jonas mainly photographs analogously and with existing light.
