Study Circle 1: Artistry Beyond Grants

This study circle is aimed at professional artists and performers who continue to work despite the lack of grants, recognition, or institutional support. The focus is on meaningfulness, perseverance, and artistic value beyond visibility.

The study circle is intended as a common space for reflection and conversation, without requirements for performance, production, or presentation of works. During the meetings, participants are given the opportunity to reflect on their existing resources, experiences, and relationships, and to formulate a personal artistic promise that is not career-based, but rooted in their own artistry.

The conversations are based on listening, exchanging experiences, and respecting different ways of continuing to be an artist. The organizers welcome a range of different artistic professions and practices, and see the composition of the group as an important part of the circle’s content.

The study circle is aimed at artists and performers who want to strengthen their artistic practice and create better conditions for work, assignments, and collaborations. Together, we will investigate how you can build, clarify, and communicate your artistic practice in a way that feels sustainable, relevant, and rooted in your own expression without having to adapt to ready-made templates. The study circle is based on conversation, exchange of experiences, and active exercises. Your experiences, perspectives, and artistic practices are central, and you are expected to be present and active during the meetings, contribute to joint discussions, and give and receive feedback. Study Circle 3: Work in progress – interdisciplinary meetings

Do you want feedback on your dance choreography, a fresh perspective on your manuscript, or perhaps new inspiration and support in your photographic process?

This study circle is aimed at artists and performers from different disciplines, where, in an open and supportive environment, we will help each other to gain and give new perspectives on our artistic processes. You present and receive feedback on your work, and give your feedback on a variety of projects. Together, we create a safe space to show and learn about how others work in the cultural sector, in order to develop our own project work. As a participant, you need to have an ongoing project work, process, or work that you want to gain new perspectives on. For inspiration and a rewarding exchange for all, you as a participant need to participate in all the study circle’s meetings, even when you are not presenting. The purpose is to give you a developing place to share and discuss your thoughts about your project and get feedback from different perspectives that will help you move forward in your creation.

The study circle takes place at Konstkollektivet’s premises in Mölndal. Here you will find a black box, gallery walls, speakers and mics, parking and a bus up the hill. The study circle takes place every other Saturday from 13:00-16:00, starting February 7.
