During TALK PHOTO, you will listen to Niclas Östlind, PhD in photography, take part in the legend Anders Petersen’s practice and get a glimpse of how Arvida Byström thinks about herself and her artistry. On site, you will meet others in the industry, get information about the photography discourse and at the same time get information about the future of photography in Sweden. Today there is no responsible museum for photography in Sweden. Where do you turn to get answers to preservation questions? Who takes care of the legacy of our great names in photography? How do we ensure our shared Swedish photographic cultural heritage?
Mia Bengtsson Plynning talks about the preservation of Tuija Lindström’s artistic legacy and Lena Wilhelmsson describes the Network National Responsibility for Photography in Sweden’s (NNAFS) work to get a government investigation into the national responsibility for our visual memory in Sweden. The network was started in connection with a conference at Dunkers Kulturhus 2014.
BEING AND DOING ONLINE! with Arvida Byström
Arvida (b. 1991) explores the digital sphere and works on themes that deal with femininity and its complexity through the examination of the body, selfie sticks and fruits with underwear. Arvida has worked with large companies such as Gucci, Adidas, HM and Absolut Vodka. During TALK PHOTO, she will talk about how she works.
