OPEN CALL: POSTCARD EXHIBITION – Hälsningar från / Greetings From

An image with an address. An object that is both artwork and message. It passes through hands, is sorted, stamped, and travels across distances. When sent by mail, the journey becomes part of the work; time, transport, and materiality leave traces in the image.

- If the postcard does not arrive, your name will still be included in the exhibition list
- The postcards will not be returned after the exhibition period

Centrum för fotografi invites photographers and visual artists to participate in a group exhibition in Gothenburg where all works are presented in postcard format. Here, the postcard is regarded as an independent artistic form, intended to move through the world before reaching the exhibition space.
In Gothenburg, Centrum för fotografi has moved into a new location. In our first exhibition at the venue, we let the works travel here, so that the opening extends beyond Gothenburg and gathers contributions locally, nationally, and internationally. Through the postal service, different geographies and practices are brought together in a shared presentation. This exhibition becomes a way of opening the doors where each postcard becomes a link between different places, practices, and people, a network in miniature visible in the exhibition space.
Who can participate?
This open call is open to everyone, members and non-members, nationally and internationally. We welcome different photographic practices and perspectives. The only fixed framework is the format: the postcard.
