Member visit to Gothenburg Art
Welcome to a visit to Gothenburg Art on May 6. During the visit, we will learn about Gothenburg Art’s work and take a tour of their workshops and art collection.
About Gothenburg Art
Gothenburg Art works with public art, both indoors and outdoors in the city. The aim and goal of the operation is that public art should be accessible to more people. The unit is part of the Culture and Community Development Department within the City of Gothenburg’s cultural administration.
The operation rests on a democratic foundation, a conviction that art is a fundamental part of society and that it should be accessible to all. In order for art to have a prominent role in Gothenburg, the unit collaborates with a large number of actors in the public sector and civil society. The unit actively works with issues of equality and diversity, which are fundamental to the relevance of art in society.
Gothenburg Art manages both smaller and larger-scale art installations in the city’s public spaces. The operation consists of an art collection, the Charles Felix Lindberg donation fund, the Per and Alma Olsson primary school fund, register management and process management of the one percent rule for the city’s wholly owned companies and administrations.
