Julia Peirone’s exhibition at Liljevalchs highlights one of today’s foremost contemporary artists.
Since her breakthrough in the 90s, Julia Peirone has been interested in the photographic image and what it can be. Peirone’s photographs and films often feature young people, but in recent years older actors have also taken the stage. Regardless of age, everything takes place at an intersection, in the zone between being a child, adult, and aged. In this borderland there is both pain and opportunity. In these images of total presence and vulnerability, we see a frozen time. It is brittle, painful and melancholic.
Julia Peirone shows her exhibition to our members at Liljevalchs+, Stockholm. Meeting at the cash register in the entrance of the new extension at 11:50 AM. We offer free admission for the first five participants.
