From idea to finished book: Jonas Dahlström – 07:27:47
What is the process of making a book? During the autumn, Landskrona Library is arranging a series of lectures where three photobook authors present their books under the title “From idea to finished book.”
Jonas Dahlström is a photographer from Malmö. His first book, “07:27:47,” was published in 2020 by a publishing house in Germany and has been awarded several international prizes.
The book is the result of four years of exploring modernist urban environments in Sweden, from Tomelilla in the south to Luleå in the north. Landskrona is also represented. In his images, Jonas highlights the graphically minimalist aesthetic that can arise in the interplay between light, shadows, and geometric shapes in the urban landscape. In each image, a person is on their way somewhere, as if on a journey through time and space. All images are sorted according to the time they were taken, thus forming a sequence of moments that take place over 12 hours. Together, they can be read as a contemplation of the passage of everyday life, as time and light sweep over the city.
Today, Jonas is working on his second book, which is expected to be completed in 2025.
September 12, 18:00: Hans Jonsson – “Sami People, Not an Isolated Island.”
