In collaboration with SWIT Platform and their first residency in Gothenburg, we are organizing a conversation and pop-up exhibition with Italian artist Gloria Pasotti. During the evening, we will learn about Gloria’s ongoing project where she works with her photographic archive, which consists of unpublished material and images that she has collected over a long period of time. Her work explores the fleeting and inexplicable aspects of everyday situations, where she seeks new ways to experience the boundary between the conscious and unconscious.

The conversation will be held in English and will also be broadcast live on Centrum för fotografi’s Instagram. The conversation starts at 18:00.

SWIT-platform SWIT is a platform for contemporary photography that bridges Sweden and Italy. SWIT was founded in 2022 by artist Stefano Conti as a curatorial and research project and aims to strengthen collaboration between Sweden-based and Italy-based artists working with photography, and support them through cultural exchanges.

SWIT Residency Gloria Pasotti is the artist selected for this year’s edition of SWIT Residency, the very first residency program focusing on photography in Gothenburg. The artist is offered studio space at Kronhuset and mentoring opportunities by artist and educator Anna Strand. This year, the residency takes place between May 3-23.

Gloria Pasotti (b. 1987, Brescia) holds an MFA in photography from Brera Fine Arts Academy, Milan. She uses photography, video and drawing in her artistic practice and presents her works through publications and exhibitions.
