International Portfolio Review 15 & 16 October

Welcome to a portfolio review with Iveta Gabaliņa, curator, photographer and co-founder of ISSP Gallery in Riga.

ISSP is a platform for contemporary photography, art and education. Since its inception in 2006, ISSP has annually organized the International Summer School of Photography, initiated local and international educational and exchange programmes, produced exhibitions, publications and events—and, above all, built a vibrant community of artists in Latvia and abroad.

An opportunity for you to show your work and receive valuable feedback from one of the most experienced voices in Latvian photographic art.

The portfolio review is free of charge and takes place in Stockholm or digitally via Zoom. Meetings are held in English. You need to be a member of CFF to participate.

Iveta Gabaliņa is a curator, photographer and co-founder of ISSP Gallery in Riga. She holds a master’s degree in photography from Aalto University (Finland) and a master’s degree in curatorial studies from the Art Academy of Latvia, where she is currently pursuing a doctorate in art. Iveta has received several international photography awards, including the C/O Berlin Talents Award (2013), Burn Magazine Award and CDS Documentary Photography Award. Her work is included in significant art collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A, London) and Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, and is regularly exhibited both in Latvia and internationally.

Alongside her artistic and curatorial practice, Iveta mentors young photographers on behalf of ISSP through the European photography platform Futures. She is also one of the organizers of the Latvian Art Annual Award.
