How Do You Read a Photobook? Take 10 Press Meets the Hasselblad Foundation Library
How do you read a photobook? Or do you actually read photobooks? Don’t you just look? Sometimes they can consist only of images and be very abstract?
Time
18:00:00 - 19:00:00
Welcome to a conversation between two experienced photobook readers, Alberto Rossi from Take 10 Press and Andréas Hagström from the Hasselblad Foundation Library, who share their experiences with photobooks and how they approach a new photobook through a number of examples they have selected from their respective libraries.
The event brings together two very different photobook collections. Take 10 Press is a nomadic, donation-based library focusing on contemporary self-published works from Scandinavia and the rest of the world, while the Hasselblad Foundation Library is an established institution with an extensive international collection of over 18,000 photobooks.
The Take 10 Press library will also be exhibited in the venue, giving visitors the opportunity to browse a selection of self-published works both before and after the lecture.
How Do You Read a Photobook? is part of Fotobok GBG 2026, the annual photobook festival organized in collaboration with Centrum för Fotografi, whose program this year is focused on the theme of “Photobooks in Dialogue”.
The event will be held in Swedish.
Frölunda Kulturhus, Gothenburg – 24 September 2026, 6:00–7:00 PM.
Free and open to all.
