This screening is a special opportunity to engage with Mozard’s artistic practice and to experience a larger selection of her films through a mini film festival.

Through her photography, Tova Mozard portrays herself, charged environments, and characters. She repeatedly approaches real places and people through staging and direction. Mystery and omission of information challenge our way of reading and understanding images, a balancing act where the line between reality and fiction unravels.

Tova Mozard trained at Malmö Art Academy and UCLA in California and is represented in, among others, the Moderna Museet, Norrköping Art Museum, Hasselblad Foundation, and the Public Art Agency Sweden. Her films Stora Scenen and Psychic, both shown at Bas Konsthall, have both been nominated for Guldbaggen awards on various occasions.
