Book Release for Peripheral Vision: Images from the Fringe of Europe
Welcome to the Swedish release of the book Peripheral Vision: Images from the Fringe of Europe. The book brings together twenty Swedish photographers, most of whom have become established in the last decade. At 6 PM, editors Magnus af Petersens and Kristyna Müller will discuss the book. The gallery features the exhibition Aboowe, this is for you with Ikram Abdulkadir, who also contributed to the book.
Peripheral vision is the ability to see things outside your direct line of sight. Noticing and paying attention to what is not necessarily the most obvious is a gift shared by the photographers in this book. They reflect different views on and approaches to a changing Sweden and showcase a selection of contemporary photography that oscillates between the documentary and the poetic.
This book brings together twenty Swedish photographers, most of whom have become established in the last decade. The book is produced by the Center for Photography (CFF), with the ambition to awaken and spread interest in Swedish photography and to further reach a Swedish and a wider international audience. The book had its international release at the end of 2023 at the Swedish Institute in Paris, in connection with Maja Daniels’ exhibition On the Silence of Myth.
