More about Behzad Farazollahi:

Behzad Farazollahi is an artist and co-founder of MELK, an artist-run exhibition space in Oslo.

MELK was established in 2009 as a response to a generational shift in the Scandinavian photography field. The desire was to strengthen artists at the beginning of their careers and offer an exhibition space and contact with institutions and established galleries.

MELK has since positioned itself as a leading meeting place for camera-based art, with a primary focus on highlighting new Norwegian artists in the field. Since its inception, MELK has produced 124 solo exhibitions and 13 group exhibitions at leading institutions and galleries, including curating ‘New Visions’, the first triennial for photography and new media at the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter.

MELK are editors of publications with international distribution, New Scandinavian Photography by Black Dog Publishing and Why Photography by Henie Onstad Kunstsenter. Their publications can be found in university libraries and museums around the world such as Oxford, Harvard, UCLA, Nasjonalmuseet, MoMA and Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, among others.

MELK was founded by Behzad Farazollahi, Bjarne Bare and Christian Tunge.
