In the spring of 2023, the fanzine project (Periphery) was carried out in northern Sweden with participants from Västernorrland, Västerbotten, and Norrbotten. The fanzine project is an initiative by the Center for Photography to support and showcase the breadth of photographic activity around the country. (Periphery) ’23, run by the Center for Photography, is a continuation of the project initially carried out in Västra Götaland in the fall of 2021 and Skåne in the fall of 2022.

During the spring, the 14 participating photographers have worked from their material and compiled the work in their own fanzines. The photographers have worked on the layout of their zines following guidance from the design agency Lundgren+Lindqvist. The works are now being published and compiled in a collection box. The (Periphery) ’23 box will be presented during the release at the Sune Jonsson Center for Documentary Photography (SJCD) on Wednesday, September 13.

(Periphery) will be available for purchase during the release at SJCD and in the future at the Center for Photography’s webshop.
