Hello Alexandra! You have a background in documentary photography, having worked with, among others, the Malmö Museum together with Save the Children, and since 2016 you have been working as a curator at the Sune Jonsson Center for Documentary Photography (SJCD) at the Västerbotten Museum in Umeå.

Is there any issue within photography that you are particularly passionate about?

A little predictable perhaps, but documentary storytelling. For me, it is unbeatable when you want to address phenomena in society, both as a photographer and as a curator, and then let them be shaped through individual people. And I love the research phase when I get to delve in and acquire information that can then be translated into images and exhibitions.

What attracted you to join the CFF board?

I see it as a fantastic opportunity to gain greater insight into what is happening nationally within photography, and now that CFF is making a more targeted national effort, it felt extra important to be a partner in the northern parts of the country.

What do you hope to contribute to the business with your background?

I hope to contribute with my museum knowledge, as well as the experience I have gained from working to manage and disseminate Sune Jonsson’s archive.
